The Senior
Hannah’s Mom, Amy, contacted me to set up her daughter Senior Session and told me all about how great she has done in school and how excited she was after seeing my Senior portfolio, for me to do her session! When we met, I could tell Hannah, although excited, was super nervous. She told me she had never done an outdoor session before and wasn’t sure how to act or pose. CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
After a little education on what to expect during her session, within minutes, Hannah started loosening up, having a good time and the images above were from the first 10 minutes of meeting! Building up self confidence is half of my job as a photographer and if done right, it doesn’t matter how long I’ve known them, they start to show me who they really are.
The Location
When Amy and I first started discussing locations, she said “Hannah LOVES the Beach!”
I knew EXACTLY where we could go! (And got a pretty good idea of Hannahs’ personality being of a ray of sunshine just from that comment.. ..and I was right!)
Ontario Beach Park is a great location for any style photography! With it’s sandy beach area, view at sunset, buildings with lots of texture and a beautiful Pier, it as a lot to offer in an hours time! Even Hannah’s puppy, Finley decided to jump in on some of her photos!
The Golden Hour
Imagine driving home, everything has that beautiful golden color around you, the radio is on, life is better and it’s just glowing compared to the rest of the day; but it’s so short lived. That is what Photographers call the “Golden Hour”. It’s only happens the hour before sundown. You will still have some light after sunset (and that too, is glorious as you can see below) but typically, sessions are strategically scheduled within this “golden hour” to get the best lighting!
After Sundown
After the sun has gone below the horizon, it will get dark fairly quickly but this is another favorite time of day to finish sessions. Each sunset is different and for Hannah’s it brought this beautiful pink/purple hue to the sky.
What a beautiful way to finish up such an amazing session and her photo gallery showed it!! She said “It’s one thing to look at others’ Senior photos on your website but then I saw MINE and they were a million times what I expected! THANK YOU!”
You. Are. So. Welcome!
